![]() Washington County Sheriff's deputies will conduct increased DUII patrols this Super Bowl weekend. Law enforcement will be out in force working in a mutual effort to identify and arrest DUII drivers throughout the region. Oregon State Police and ODOT also ask fans to make plans to designate a sober driver. Fans Don't Let Fans Drive Drunk. Adopt-A-Road volunteers from the Rinier Family will be picking up litter on Purdin Road between Thatcher Road and Highway 47. Thank you, volunteers! Capital Project Management (CPM) is ready for another busy year of road construction! The list of 2012 construction projects going out for bid this year is now available for viewing. CPM projects are contracted out to private contractors and range from sidewalk installations to road widening and bridge replacements. These projects create a safer and more efficient multi-modal county road network. The Meacham Road bridge replacement project will go out for bid on Monday, February 6, at 8 a.m. Bids close on Wednesday, February 22, at 10 a.m. Bidders can find more information at the ORPIN website. Bid sets can be purchased by calling (503) 846-7800 or by swinging by our office located at 1400 SW Walnut Street in Hillsboro. ODOT’s contractor will perform tree and brush removal during the months of February and March in preparation for construction work this summer on the U.S. 26 Glencoe Road Interchange project. Clearing will take place in all four quadrants of the interchange; however, the majority will take place in the southwest and northeast quadrants. Tree felling work will occur between sunrise and sunset and will not directly impact traffic (although travelers can expect some shoulder closures). Travelers should use caution when moving through the area while this work is happening adjacent to the roadways. Work continues on installation of a traffic signal and new crosswalk at the intersection of TV Highway and SW 178th Avenue. ODOT's contractor will perform electrical and sidewalk work next week. Crews will perform nighttime work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week (February 6-8) from 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Single lane closures will occur in both directions of TV Hwy (OR 8). Flaggers will perform intermittent traffic stops in both directions lasting less than 10 minutes each. Property owners along neighborhood streets planned for slurry seal and overlay this summer recently received notices informing them of the upcoming work and their responsibility to trim back their landscaping. The preventive maintenance pavement surface treatments are funded by the Urban Road Maintenance District.
